I'm Anti-Hanke-Panke Too

McCain's Brilliant Play: Bets Presidency on Blocking Bailout Deal

"Americans hate the Hanke-Panke plan, which they accurately view as a bailout of the financial-services companies and executives that helped get us into this mess."

I Just Had to Laugh. "The Economist" conservative?

Somebody described The Economist as conservative.

The Economist

According to former editor Bill Emmott, "the Economist's philosophy has always been liberal, not conservative."

The Economist editorial stance

"The newspaper defines its point of view as classically liberal. Therefore, its editorial stance tends to take positions that are socially liberal and economically liberal; it generally advocates free markets and the minimum governmental regulation necessary, and then only where unfettered free markets would clearly lead to negative results (such as monopolistic practices)."

I can't afford to be a Democrat

Barack Obama raises millions in Beverly Hills

"Tickets to Tuesday's reception and dinner at the mansion went for $28,500 apiece; about 300 people attended. Entry to the hotel event cost $2,500; about 800 were in the audience."

Desperado Steals McCain Yard Signs

I have a McCain yard sign, two neighbors also have McCain signs.
One Obama sign on the next block.
Last night, somebody stole two of the McCain signs.
The Messiah’s followers are getting desperate.

Bob
P.S. I'm going to follow someone's advice about having backups.

I Want a Button! Or, at least, a cookie.

Straining to reach money goal, Obama presses donors

"At a convention-week meeting in Denver of the campaign's top fund-raisers, buttons with the image of a money tree were distributed to those who had already contributed the maximum $2,300 to the general election, a subtle reminder to those who had failed to ante up."

$2,300 does not a VIP make

Was going to attend the McCain/Palin rally.
Was told only VIPs get seats, everyone else has to stand for the 3-4 hours.

HELLO?

They REALLY ARE the party of the fat cats.

Bob

P.S. I may have to vote Obama to cancel out my contribution.
